Booking a hospital appointment involves more than finding a hospital name. The department, campus, registration channel and identification requirements all need to match your visit. Use this checklist to prepare a clear inquiry.
Identify the relevant department and exact campus
Start with the concern you want assessed or an existing diagnosis, rather than selecting a doctor only by name. Compare hospital profiles with the relevant department, then ask whether that department accepts the type of appointment you need. A hospital may have several campuses, so confirm the address on the booking itself.
Check the registration channel and identification requirements
Ask the hospital how an international visitor should register for the selected clinic. Confirm whether a passport can be used through that channel, whether a local telephone number is needed and which name format must match your identification. If an online booking route does not accept your document, ask the hospital about its supported alternative.
Also confirm whether the booking is for a general clinic, a specialist clinic or an international service. Those settings may differ in registration procedures, fees and language arrangements. A request sent to a coordinator is not a hospital appointment confirmation.
Organise records for the appointment
Ask the receiving team which records it needs, in which language and in what format. Keep dates and document labels clear when collecting previous reports or imaging.
